Terms of Service

Updated 2026-09-29

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of captiongrab.com and its tools and guides (the "Service"), operated by CaptionGrab ("CaptionGrab", "we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What the Service does

CaptionGrab lets you retrieve and copy the caption (description) of a public TikTok video and, where available, get a transcript of what is said in it. The Service is free and requires no account.

CaptionGrab is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by TikTok or ByteDance. "TikTok" is a trademark of its respective owner and is used here only to describe what the Service works with.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in line with these Terms. You agree not to:

We may block, limit or suspend access for anyone who violates these Terms or puts the Service or its users at risk.

4. Content and ownership

Captions and transcripts belong to their creators. The captions, thumbnails and speech the Service retrieves come from public TikTok videos and remain the property of their creators or rights holders. CaptionGrab does not claim ownership of them. You are solely responsible for how you use anything you get through the Service, including making sure your use is permitted by law (for example, by the owner's permission or as fair use) and giving credit where appropriate.

Our content. The Service's design, code, text, guides and branding are owned by CaptionGrab and protected by intellectual property laws. You may read and share links to our guides, but you may not copy or republish them in full without our permission.

5. Transcripts and AI output

Some transcripts are produced by artificial intelligence. They can be incomplete or inaccurate, may mishear words, and may miss speech entirely. Review transcripts before relying on or publishing them. Transcripts are provided for convenience only and are not a certified or official record of a video.

6. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party services to function, and it links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for third-party services or content, and their availability may affect the Service. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. It is part of these Terms.

8. Changes and availability

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, without notice. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, error-free or able to retrieve a particular video's caption or transcript.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAPTIONGRAB WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain of these limitations, so they may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless CaptionGrab from any claims, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your use of content obtained through it, or your violation of these Terms or of anyone else's rights.

12. Copyright concerns

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with a description of the work, where it appears on the Service, and your contact details. We will review and respond to valid requests.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except where the law of your place of residence gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

15. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and CaptionGrab about the Service.
