How to copy a TikTok caption

Use this free TikTok caption grabber to extract and copy the caption, title or description of any public TikTok video. No login or app required.

  1. In TikTok, open the video and tap Share → Copy link.
  2. Come back here and tap Paste (or paste the link into the box and tap Fetch).
  3. Tap Copy to put the caption on your clipboard.

Can you copy a caption inside the TikTok app?

Not easily. TikTok does not let you select the text of a caption, which is why this tool exists: copy the video link instead and paste it here.

Is the TikTok title the same as the caption or description?

Yes. A TikTok video has one text field shown under the video. People call it the caption, title or description; this tool copies all of it, hashtags included.

How do I download a TikTok caption?

Grab it here, tap Copy, then paste it into your notes, a document or a spreadsheet. There is nothing to install and no file to download.

Can I copy the words spoken in a TikTok video?

Yes. After fetching a video, tap Get transcript, or use the TikTok transcript generator to get the spoken words straight away.

Which links work?

Links to public videos and photo posts (slideshows), including short links like vt.tiktok.com. Private or deleted posts and profile links cannot be read.

Why doesn't the Paste button work?

When you tap Paste, your browser asks for permission to read your clipboard. If you tap Don't Allow, or your browser does not support it, nothing is pasted. Long-press the box above, choose Paste, then tap Fetch. It works the same way.

Why did my link not work?

Most failures come from a link that is not a video: a profile, a search page or a link from another app. Open the video itself in TikTok and use Share → Copy link. If the video was made private or deleted, its caption cannot be read. If TikTok is slow to answer, you may see an error; wait a few seconds and try again.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. CaptionGrab runs in your phone's browser, such as Safari or Chrome, so there is no app to install. It also works on a computer: copy the link from the address bar of the TikTok website and paste it here.

Can I copy only the hashtags?

Copy puts the whole caption, hashtags included, on your clipboard. Paste it where you need it and delete the parts you do not want. To study which hashtags work, see the caption and hashtag guides.

Is CaptionGrab free?

Yes. There is no account, sign-up or limit on copying captions. The site is paid for by ads, which are placed below the tool so they do not get in the way of pasting and copying.
